Kindness, Empathy, Respect & Responsibility
These are the foundations of our new program. It is with great pleasure that we make it available to educators, parents, and children.
Of course, we could not have done it without our elite Humane Team -- Harry the Humane, an energetic yellow Lab mix; Annabelle, a curious black and white cat; Jax, a fun-loving brown rabbit; Lizzie, a precocious green iguana; and Rocky, the spunky brown and black ferret.
With their help we created an integrated program complete with cool grade-specific lesson plans, classroom visits, a shelter tour, and a community service program where kids get credit for doing fun activities to help the animals.
Thanks also to a great Advisory Board of educators and animal experts and lovers who helped us develop a program that meets Ohio's academic standards and contains lesson outcomes for multiple discipline areas, including language arts, science, math, and social studies.
We hope you have as much fun participating in the program as we had developing it.
